Britt Vegetation Management (BVM) is a Warwickshire-based survey, consultancy and research business, run by Chris Britt - an experienced environmental research manager and senior consultant.
Britt Vegetation Management is a new consultancy and research business, specialising in vegetation management, hedgerow and tree surveys, woodland establishment, ecology surveys, bioenergy crops and knowledge transfer projects. Based in Warwickshire, BVM was established in autumn 2006 by Chris Britt, formerly a senior consultant and research manager with ADAS.
Chris Britt BSc, CBiol, MIBiol, MBPR Chris Britt is a graduate biologist with more than 20 years’ experience in research and development, project management and business development. Throughout his career, with the North of Scotland College of Agriculture (now part of SAC) and ADAS, he managed numerous contracts for Government and commercial clients and led many successful bids for major research and consultancy contracts. He is a member of the

Chris has particular expertise and recent experience in vegetation management and weed control; establishment, management and ecology of woodlands; hedgerow ecology, management and survey methods; habitat surveys; urban tree surveys; and the agronomy of renewable energy crops.
He managed a programme of farm woodland projects for MAFF/Defra from 1988 to 2002, and led ADAS biodiversity and land management research from 2000 to 2006. He also managed ADAS inputs into the UK Environmental Change Network from 1992 to 2006. More recently he has managed a poplars project for the EC (PAMUCEAF), a national urban tree survey for the ODPM (now DCLG) (Trees in Towns II), woodland ecology research for Defra, and an ecological consultancy contract for Severn Trent Water.
He has written and edited numerous reports, articles and scientific papers – and made presentations at several national conferences. Publications of note include:
